Carnoustie Sportswear’s Lawn Stripe Performance Polo was put to the test in the intense heat of a Cuban afternoon and came away scoring high marks in what it was created for – giving golfers a comfortable worry-free day on the course when temperatures hit 30C/86F or more.

I was playing Cuba’s only 18-hole track, the Varadero Golf Club, and was about six holes in during a mid-afternoon round when it donned on me that my Lawn Stripe Performance Polo didn’t have to be pulled at and rearranged every time I prepared to hit a shot.

Adding to that comfort factor was realizing just how light it felt while it showcased the features Carnoustie Sportswear says were built into its design. This polo allowed me to feel as though I wasn’t sweating a steady stream of moisture in the steamy Cuban heat and it provided incredible stretch in that it moved in tandem with me throughout each swing while battling and winning the odour management challenge and keeping the sun’s ray at bay with its UV protection.

For stats-lovers, the Lawn Stripe Performance Polo is constructed of 88% polyester and 12% spandex. As I’ve previously reported, it’s lightweight performance was outstanding and I’ve discovered the polo to be easy to maintain by washing in cold water without fabric softener and then tumbling dry. The moisture wicking, anti-microbial and UV protection really did prove to be beyond top notch.

When golfers are on the lookout for apparel, low maintenance ranks high along with  terrific performance and most importantly, superb value. The Carnoustie Lawn Stripe Performance Polo checked all of these boxes in some scorching conditions.
