Antigua Apparel has done its part to help recreational and professional golfers put a smooth swing on every shot by incorporating what’s called Desert Dry fabric into the creation process of its polos and shorts.

I had the opportunity to give Antigua’s Streak and Survey polos and the company’s Ellis shorts a couple of test runs in high heat while on holiday in Cuba and found that they all live up to the cool and comfy rep they’ve earned. The garments have made it to their prominent place in the industry honestly after all since they were tested in the Arizona desert.

The Streak’s features include the polo being crafted of 100% polyester Desert Dry wicking yarn, three buttons, open cuff and a 3D reflective logo. The colour scheme includes several bright colours topping a grey heather jersey front torso panel.

The classic looking Survey polo offers players a little more in the way of performance flexibility since it is constructed of 95% polyester and 5% spandex, has an all-over embossed geometric pattern and shows off with a 3D silver reflective “A” logo.

A four-hour round in the Cuban swelter didn’t allow either the Steak nor the Survey to produce the sticky perspiration fueled twitchiness that players suffer through when their clothing becomes even slightly moist.

A black pair of Ellis model shorts with button closure from Antigua joined in the cool, lightweight, and moisture-wicking stretch fabric theme and added the bonus of a form fit that works for players of various size challenges. They too are a combo of 95% polyester and 5% spandex that produces a relaxed fit without creating that annoying floppy sticky effect that often accompanies high-tech fabric while disrupting the concentration process when setting up the next shot.
